Uganda and Tanzania national priority development areas highlight increased access to affordable and clean energy among the key focus areas. EACOP shall deliberately increase access to clean energy for key institutions like health centres and schools in project affected communities. This shall be implemented under the rural electrification project & increased access to solar energy.
Solar farm (or photovoltaic / PV farm) to generate at the terminal site in Tanga, Tanzania a total of 4MWp generated by 6,200 solar panels. The PV farm site at the terminal will be measure 180x300m (the equivalent of 2 football pitches) bringing further additional carbon footprint reduction.
